of Honor - Golden Gate Skate Patrol - March 13, 1983
A
Certificate of Honor was presented to the members of the Golden Gate Skate Patrol by the
San Francisco Board of Supervisors for our help when a murder was committed on a Sunday
afternoon in Golden Gate Park. An inter-racial couple was gunned down by an individual who
had been stalking the couple as they walked in the park. The gunman came out of the
bushes and shot the couple killing the female and permanently paralizing the male.
Skate Patrol skaters were on the scene in about 15 seconds. We provided 1st Aid,
called the ambulance and shadowed the suspect as he tried to run across the park and
escape. The police caught the suspect in an apartment complex across from the park. |
