You’ve seen them on the streets, sidewalks and parks all over the nation. Looking like futuristic speedsters, they whiz by with the grace of the wind. Become a part of the greatest outdoor skating sensation, in-line skating.

A combination of ice and conventional rollerskating, in-line skating can provide you with hours of fun, fitness and Exercise. Whether you were six years old the last time you skated or just bought your brand new blades, it’s time to learn the skating techniques that will give you a fun, exciting and safe skating experience.

During this 90 minute course, you will become familiar with the different brands of in-line skates, wheels, bearings, pads and related equipment. You will learn proper skating form, balance, stopping, turning and how to hold your own on a hill. We will also take you through the slalom course to teach you to gain confidence and learn to manuever.

David Miles, and his instructor staff will get you rolling into this new, exciting sport. David has 35 years of teaching and performing experience. Known as the “mayor” of Golden Gate Park, David is Founder and President of the California Outdoor Rollerskating Association, He is also the head of the famed Midnight Rollers “Friday Night Skate”. This is a group of skaters that roll through San Francisco every Friday Night. Mr. Miles has participated in 14 skate-a-thons from San Francisco to Los Angeles on both in-line and conventional roller skates.
Lessons are given on Saturdays at 6th Ave. and Kennedy Drive in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Private lessons take place on Saturdays and on weekdays, but must be pre-arranged.
