Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, it seems that you are not ready to call it quits on the 2005 C.O.R.A. race season. Skaters are calling for another 50K race in California, especially Tom McCue, one of the founding members of C.O.R.A. He will be going under the knife in early November to fix a foot problem, so we need to do this before this happens.

Due to popular demand we will present the final inline road race of the 2005 race season on Sunday, October 31, 2005 as we present the Halloween Surprise 10 - 30 - 50 Kilometer Roadskate.

The race will be a part of the big Halloween Skate Weekend in San Francisco. It will begin with the Halloween Friday Night Skate on Fri. Oct. 28, the Halloween Roller Disco Party at the Redwood Roller Rink on Sat,. Oct. 29 and the race on Canada Road on Sun. Oct. 30. If you can stay for the 31st, we'll roll up into the Castro with 500,00 others for San Francisco's largest Halloween celebration which includes a skate through the city and into the Castro.

RACE EVENTS
Participants can race in the 50 Kilometer Race or they can choose to race the 10 Kilometer race or the 30 kilometer race. 1 lap = 10 kilometers, 3 laps is 30 kilometers and 5 laps = 50 kilometers.

START TIME
The San Mateo Park Patrol will close off the road at 9:00 A.M. The races will begin at 9:15 A.M.

RACE COURSE
You will not find a better race venue than the closed off 4 mile section of Canada road between Highway 92 and Edgewood Road along the Crystal Springs Reservoir in San Mateo Ca. The course is rolling hills and smooth asphalt all the way and completely closed to cars. Racers will skate along the course to the 180 turn 3.1 miles from the start. There will be course marshals to make sure the turn is free of bike or pedestrian traffic and safe for your racing experience.

ENTRY FEES
The entry fees for each event is $20.00 CORA members and members of USARS, $30.00 non-members

PRIZES AND AWARDS

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 men and women in the Pro Class. Medals will be awarded to the top male and female skaters in each of the Citizen Class age categories. We will take all the race pull tags and draw from them to award the product prizes.

HOTELS
There are no hotels within skating distance of the Crystal Springs Reservoir. However on El Camino at Highway 92, there are two that will accommodate skaters.

Right off the freeway, this is located at Hwy 92 at El Camino Real. It's just about 5 minutes away from the start line. A room with 2 double beds costs $79.00 + taxes. A room with one queen size bed is $69.00 + taxes. This includes free breakfast, DSL internet connection and swimming pool for after the race.

This is located across the street from the Howard Johnson's Express Inn. There's no free breakfast, DSL internet connection or swimming pool for after the race, but the rooms are $55.00 + taxes per night. The cost is the same whether you have one or two beds in the room.
