Yes, it's been 20 years since the first skaters gathered together to skate upon the earthquake damaged Embarcadero Freeway. Today the freeway is gone, the Embarcadero has been totally transformed and the Friday Night Skate still rolls along. We had a small celebration in December. Now we're inviting everyone to come out and join with as we roar through the streets of San Francisco celebrating 20 years of the Midnight Rollers Friday Night Skate. |
The C.O.R.A. want to invite you to put on your wheels and join with us as we use skates as our transportation from the Ferry Building in San Francisco to the Ferry station in Sausalito . This is in honor of the 30th anniversary since skaters from the Golden Gate Skate Patrol first skated from San Francisco to Los Angeles in the Skate Against World Hunger in 1980. http://www.cora.org/RSMag10-80.htm This event will involve us skating across the Golden Gate Bridge, however there is a problem.... |
Golden Gate Park has a brand new surface!!! Kennedy Drive in Golden Gate Park has been repaved all the way to the beach. It's baby-back smooth black ice asphalt. C.O.R.A. wants you to come check it out while taking part in the worldwide effort to transform streets into 21st century play space. Come see what we mean by the term "recreational asphalt and take the example home to duplicate where you live to build skating. |
